
The É«ÖÐÉ« Grants Office coordinates pre-award grant development and post-award implementation efforts to advance the mission and strategic direction of the college. It offers support to college departments, faculty, and staff seeking grant opportunities.
All grant concepts and applications are vetted with É«ÖÐÉ« leadership to ensure alignment with college strategic priorities, prevent duplication of efforts, and maximize success. The Grants Office is a college-wide department located in the Office of the President.

This grant totals $895,000 over two years and supports weekly resource hubs in Port Angeles, Forks, and Port Townsend where É«ÖÐÉ« and community-based partners can connect with potential students and provide wraparound support to increase enrollment and credential attainment.
Aligns with É«ÖÐɫ’s Strategic Plan Goal 1. Increase enrollments to meet State FTE targets. Objective 1.2. Strengthen retention by enhancing supports at critical points along the student progression pipeline.

This grant totals $4.3M over three years to increase high school to postsecondary enrollment for Tribal schools and rural communities in Jefferson, Clallam, Kitsap, and Mason Counties. The project offers advising, mentoring and coaching, transition support, help with FAFSA/WAFSA completion, dual credit, and a focus on career exploration. High school students will tour the É«ÖÐÉ« campus and meet with faculty, employers, and 4-year college/university transfer in program areas of interest (e.g., welding, biology).
Aligns with É«ÖÐÉ«'s Strategic Plan Goal 2: Institutionalize the Guided Pathways model at scale to improve student success. Objective 2.2. Integrate career, transfer, and academic planning across the student experience.

This grant is $1.1M over four years to recruit Indigenous students into the Natural Resources program, Indigenize É«ÖÐÉ« curriculum and infuse Indigenous ways of teaching and learning into programs, and connect students to internships and employment opportunities. The grant supports a Natural Resources Student Success Manager to provide academic and wraparound support to students and a Tribal Liaison to foster government-to-government relations.
Aligns with É«ÖÐɫ’s Strategic Plan Goal 3: Deploy resources and develop policies and procedures that foster equity and inclusion. Objective 3.2. Increase enrollment among diverse and special populations, including expanding tribal and community partnerships. Objective 3.3. Expand the use of inclusive practices and incorporate indigenous and global perspectives across the curriculum.

- North Olympic Peninsula Recompete Coalition (NOPRC) Workforce Development Project

In October 2024, Clallam County, along with partners in the North Olympic Peninsula Recompete Coalition (NOPRC), were awarded a $35M grant from the Economic Development Administration to create new jobs, implement workforce development strategies, and provide wraparound support to residents in Clallam and Jefferson Counties. É«ÖÐÉ« leads the NOPRC Workforce Development Project, which is a $6.9M grant over five years to support workforce development and entrepreneur/small business advising on the North Olympic Peninsula. Workforce development strategies focus on welding, marine technology, natural resources, and other in-demand, living wage industries. Through this project, É«ÖÐÉ« will start a Mobile Workforce Program, bringing welding and other skilled trades to remote communities on the Peninsula.
The Sequim High School Center for Technical Education program will purchase virtual reality simulators and, along with É«ÖÐɫ’s Community Education program, will offer training and certificates in heavy equipment operation for construction and transportation industries. The NW School of Wooden Boat Building will expand its Marine Systems and Boat Building Programs, including 3-day and 1-week intensive, 9-month diploma, and 12-month Associates of Occupational Studies degree program.
The Economic Development Council of Jefferson County (EDCTJ) will train and deploy business advisors throughout the North Olympic Peninsula to increase profit margins and living-wage jobs. EDCTJ will also serve as a workforce backbone entity for Jefferson County to better understand and communicate the county’s workforce needs.
Aligns with É«ÖÐÉ«'s Strategic Plan Goal 4: Strengthen fiscal stability by cultivating innovative responses to rapid disruptive changes in technology, economics, and higher education. Objective 4.1. Expand and leverage community partnerships to incorporate community-engaged programming into credit and non-credit instruction.
