KELOWNA, B.C. — The Southern Interior Construction Association (SICA) is officially accepting nominations from members and non-members for the 2024 Industry Awards of Excellence.
This year, SICA is recognizing a greater range of projects with the introduction of new categories.
In consultation with industry experts, the association made these category additions to reflect the challenges and opportunities facing the industry today. Builders can be nominated for excellence in a wide range of project types including, tenant improvement/renovations, new building/additions, community enhancement, and industrial, commercial and institutional.
Nominees will be assessed based on criteria such as innovation, design, sustainability and their overall impact on the construction industry.
All project nominations must be submitted by 12 p.m. on Dec. 15. Each project can only be entered into one award category.
The building awards will honour construction projects completed between July 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023 within the Southern Interior of B.C.
In addition to the project awards, there are nomination categories for leadership, innovation, safety as well as the member of the year award. The latter will be awarded to an individual whose contributions to the construction industry have exceeded typical expectations, acknowledging their outstanding actions and impact.
Finalists in all categories will be honoured at an awards dinner on April 24, 2024, where winners will be presented with trophies.
