NEWMARKET, ONT. — Two 15-storey condo towers are set to rise at 693-713 Davis Dr. in Newmarket, Ont. as a way to revitalize the urban core and address needed housing targets.

Designed by Kohn Partnership Architects, the Kingsley Square towers will be linked with a three-storey podium with commercial spaces at grade fronting onto the street.

The 280,906-suare-foot project will include 327 residential units, ranging from studios to two-bedroom suites.

Residents will have access to a gym, co-working spaces, an event space and an exterior courtyard, which functions as a public amenity. The project also features a rooftop terrace.

“This new zone is calling for height and density along the newly completed York Region rapid transit system, and just down the street from the Southlake Regional Healthcare Centre,” explains a release.

Currently under construction, the Briarwood Development Group project will also feature a public urban park to promote pedestrian engagement and connectivity through the site to Hollingsworth Park.

It is targeting LEED Siver certification and is incorporating a panelized construction system that ensures a tightly insulated building envelope.
