There should be a pole and the Toronto residents and tax payers should have the final say. not someone that has a personal agenda or reasons for encouraging such one sided deals. our taxed should go to what will benefit the tax payers and the residents, our tax’s should not go to any corporation unless they plan to share there profits with us or there is a pay back play. sure that someone high up is on there payback plan. when it come to tax payers publics money and land transparency is key, and the tax payers should have the final say. not some consultant firm.

I think the Spa cultur is very different here than in Austria. Also the majority of families do not have the disposable income as in Austria.
The company might be associated with the spa called “Aquapulco” in Bad Schallerbach in Upper Austria. It is a very nice place in the country side.
The advantage there are the natural hot springs which keeps operating costs dow. I think a family of four would most likely have to lay out. $ 250. for a visit. They will not allow food to be taken in, and won’t be affordable for the average Toronto Family.
Also, as a person who sailed out of Ontario Place in the early 70es, I find this plans very bad.
The first bad thing was happened was already the destruction of the Forum.

Noone would have any issue with this project if a huge public park wasn’t being decimated to build it. There has been zero public consultations, the backroom deals are shady, and there is way to much being hidden from the public. How does a spa get a 95 year lease? What did they have to agree to to get it? What are the details of the lease? Why is why are we not allowed to see any of the other designs and ideas that were put forward?

The idea to pave para dice and put in a Doug Ford Amusement Park lacks intelligence. The southern shore of Lake Ontario is sacred. A shore line is where the water meets the land a life supporting feature for all plants and animals. Migrating birds need to land on our shoreline as they have evolved for human survival. To privatize our shoreline is senseless. Move it inland.

That spa could be built anywhere in Toronto that isn’t a public park and no one would even blink. It would be nice if the owners would cover the hundreds of millions of dollars for parking as well, instead of sticking Ontario taxpayers with the bill.

You’d think that destroying the ecology of the west island would require an environmental assessment. Not in this case, it’s no longer legally required for a private venture to assess the environmental damage they’re causing.
