With an apparent worker shortage – which I’m witnessing for the first time even though it’s been a topic for decades – along with much lower vaccination rate in construction than in the general population – I can not see the large sub-contractors enforcing any vaccine mandates on their field employees on those big projects in the gta. It hasn’t even been mandated yet at certain hospital sites in Toronto and although the unvaccinated are required to take a self administered rapid tests – you are able to just send in the same picture over and over with a negative result. But hey, at least the employees at the largest general contractors are vaccinated – that looks good in the papers.
